A borrowed Bear recurve bow from my bowhunting mentor was the primary bow I ever stepped into the whitetail woods with. In 2026, I’m returning to my conventional roots. It’s been a number of years too many since I hunted severely with a stick and string, and I’m fixing that.Â
I’ve requested my bowyer buddy, Jim Neaves, to construct me one other Centaur longbow — a weapon that calls for self-discipline, apply, and respect.Â
No wheels, no shortcuts, and no overpriced equipment – simply wooden, string, and muscle reminiscence. I’m excited to sluggish issues down and really feel the hunt once more with my longbow.
